Where to start in 2021?

Updated: Jan 4, 2021

With this year that made us question absolutely everything we believed to be true finally behind us...what happens next?

Many people survived through 2020 fueled by the spark of a hope, the simple belief that this would end. For all of us, the year held infinitely singular challenges which I could never fully capture - lost adventures, lost relationships, lost dreams, lost jobs, lost health, lost loved ones - it was a year that truly tested us to our core. One we will never forget. But the brutal reality that awaits us at least in the early months of 2021 is that when the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve, few of our lives will change from the norm we've begun to bitterly accept amidst the pandemic. While facts may be difficult to swallow when reality seems driven to deliver unending hardships...no one can create a sustainable future built on lies.

For me, I start every year off with my intentions. I write down three goals in a journal to focus my energy and allocate my time effectively. It keeps me accountable to my longer term vision, while taking the immediate steps necessary to succeed gradually. Give it a try. Write down three things you want to accomplish by this time next year. Work towards it. Keep it in mind as the year progresses. Whether it's in regards to career trajectory or financial health as an individual or couple, I would love to help you find your footing in this challenging Covid-19 environment to make the most of 2021.

At Optimist Living, we are here to help you set these goals together, and work towards them to pursue progress every step of the way in the year ahead. It might not look as different from 2020 as we would like, but the end result can be miles apart with a bit of energy targeted towards meaningful growth and perspective turned towards longer-term dreams.

If you would like to arrange an initial session to build out your career or financial goals together, please reach out to us at optimistlivingwithemily@gmail.com and we will find time to connect!
